Asahi/America, Inc., the Wet Process People™, offers the Ultra Proline® Piping Systems for water and wastewater treatment and aggressive chemical applications. Produced from Halar® ( E-CTFE )resin,Ultra Proline Systems are the only thermoplastic pipes resistant to 98+% sulfuric acid.
Asahi/America's Ultra Proline Systems are available in a single wall configuration, or as part of Duo-Pro® Double Containment Piping Systems. Duo-Pro Systems consist of two separate pipes (carrier and containment) for ultimate protection against leaks and spills leading to system failure.
Asahi/America's Ultra Proline Systems are resistant to sodium hypochlorite, corrosive chemicals, organic solvents, strong acids, chlorine and aqueous caustics. They are also resistant to sulfur trioxides, which can cause stress cracking in piping systems made out of materials such as PVC, CPVC and PVDF. The systems are ideal for use in low temperature cryogenic services and in high temperature services up to 300°F.
Asahi/America's Manager of Engineered Products, Roger Govaert, states, "Ultra Proline Systems are the perfect solution for plants using aggressive chemicals, including water and wastewater treatment plants that use a true 98+% concentration of sulfuric acid for chemical dosing. In addition, Ultra Proline Duo-Pro Systems are designed to provide companies with peace of mind, helping them meet EPA and OSHA regulations, and protecting against potentially serious leaks and spills."
Asahi/America's Ultra Proline Systems are available in sizes from 1" through 4" (32-110mm), with butt fusion as the primary joining method. Pressure rates for both pipes and fittings, unless otherwise indicated, are 150 psi (10 bar) for sizes from 1" to 1 ½", and 120 psi (8.3 bar) for sizes 2" (63mm) and greater. Ultra Proline Duo-Pro Systems can be configured with alternate containment materials, such as polypropylene, for cost-effective solutions. For added security, the piping system can be used in conjunction with a number of leak detection methods.
