Asahi/America, Inc., a leader in fluid flow solutions for corrosive environments, introduces the Series 10 electric actuator. The Series 10's rugged construction, proven design and customizable options make it the perfect work-horse for corrosive industrial applications. The Series 10's enclosure is a die-cast aluminum alloy with a thermally-bonded powder-coat. This combination NEMA Type 4X & 6 enclosure is bolted together in two sections by four M10 socket-head cap screws and fitted with an O-ring between the two halves, allowing the Series 10 to weather harsh environments. The Series 10 conforms to AWWA C542.
The Series 10 features a worm gear design and declutchable override with hand wheel, thermal overload protection, a 70 percent duty cycle, and cycle times of 21-31 seconds. The self-locking worm gear design eliminates the need for a mechanical brake. Series 10 electric actuators have an output torque range from 1,320 in/lbs. to 17,400 in/lbs.
The internals of the Series 10 actuator feature a permanently lubricated gear train, hardened steel spur gears, and high duty motors. The Series 10 features integral thermal overload protection for motor windings with automatic reset. Two end-of-travel limit switches are mechanically set via adjustable cams for open and close positions. Torque switches and auxiliary switches are standard features of the actuator. A space heater is provided as standard equipment. Available accessories include positioners and two-wire control relays and are all factory installed and calibrated in the actuators.
Asahi's Series 10 electric actuators have been designed and engineered for use in a variety of applications including oil and gas, chemical plants, aquariums and water and wastewater treatment plants. Every actuator is factory mounted and tested to valves.
